2025 Daytona 500 official race results

William Byron, driver of the No. 24 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet, is now just one of five drivers to go back-to-back in the Daytona 500, taking the win only after five leaders tangled on the backstretch in a mad dash to the checkered flag. He held off Tyler Reddick in second and Jimmie Johnson in third in the final running order.

After a slow start with over three hours worth of rain delays, the race finally got underway in the late afternoon. The race was fairly clean until the closing portions of the event, which featured a spectacular and terrifying airborne crash by Ryan Preece. Thankfully, he was uninjured.

But as for Byron, he led just 10 laps en route to the checkered flag. One year ago, he led only four laps before taking victory his first victory in the 500. In total, eleven cars failed to make it to the finish with 24 finishing on the lead lap.
