Complete Indy 500 schedule: How to watch, start times, entry list

The Month of May means one thing for race fans — The Greatest Spectacle in Racing. 34 drivers will be competing for 33 spots on the 2025 Indianapolis 500 grid with a lot of practice leading up to qualifying and race day. There are eight former Indy 500 winners and four rookies entered into this historic race with a total of 14 countries represented.

These times are tentative and may be subject to change as weather can (and likely will) impact at least some of these sessions. Here’s how to watch it all:

Tuesday, May 13

12pm-2pm — Indy 500 practice

2-4pm — Indy 500 Rookie Orientation and Refresher

4-6pm — Indy 500 practice

Wednesday, May 14

12-6pm — Indy 500 practice

Thursday, May 15

12-6pm — Indy 500 practice

Friday, May 16 [Fast Friday]

12-6pm — Indy 500 practice

Saturday, May 17

8:30-9:30am — Indy 500 practice

11am-5:50pm — Indy 500 qualifying

Sunday, May 18

1-2pm — Indy 500 practice for Fast 12

2-3pm — Indy 500 practice for last chance qualifiers 

4:05-5:05pm — Indy 500 Fast 12 qualifying

5:15-6:15pm — Indy 500 LCQ qualifying for last row

6:25-6:55pm — Indy 500 Fast 6 qualifying

Monday, May 19

1-3pm — Indy 500 practice

Friday, May 23 [Carb Day]

11am-1pm — Indy 500 practice

2:30-4:30pm — Indy 500 pit stop challenge

Sunday, May 25 [Race Day]

9am — Cars to the pit lane

10:30am — Cars to the frontstretch

11:47am — Driver introductions

12:20pm — National Anthem

12:38pm — Command to start engines

12:45pm — Green flag for the 109th running of the Indianapolis 500
